Playing Hooky

Tammy called in the morning and asked if we wanted to play hooky for the day. Since breakfast was nearly over, and we had no one checking in.....we took the bait.

The kids are out of school this day for countrywide elections, so Faith and Kellyn went along. Jeannie was a little under the weather, so she couldn't make it, but the girls, Tammy, Rene, and both of us hit the water for a little fun.

Faith looks happy to be out of school and on the water

Kellyn looks the same.....

After seeing Joe Chung's "barracuda face" pictures, Renita got the girls to try it.

We moored out at Hol Chan and watched all the boatloads of people snorkeling...Renita decided to get in too...

She's coaxing the girls in, after seeing a couple of sharks swim by, they were a little hesitant. The next six or seven photos show their timid tries to get in the water.

Almost in!!!

Albeit brief, they did both get in the water!

They got a little cat nap on the way to Caye Caulker

This looks like it is a funny story

The split

Jumping back and forth, on and off the boat

Tourists on Caye Caulker soaking up the sunshine

She's thinking...........

We found a starfish munching on a dead fish at the cut

Boat jumping.....again

A Rasta, a bike, and the deep blue sea

Paddling a surfboard

On our way home

As you can tell, they didn't have ANY fun!

Explaining games to the girls on the beach

Playing hangman on the beach

It was a fun day.....we ran into a ten minute squall out at the reef, but it wasn't enough to get our towels wet.

Now why would I want to be in the snow and cold? Right, I wouldn't!!!!

Looks like a GREAT day - good for you guys for playing hooky! You work darn hard - nice to see ya taking the occasional perk of biz ownership by playing hooky. And what beautiful children. Looks like they had a GREAT day too.

Man that looks like so much fun and to think that on an off day from school the poor kids here just sit in front of the TV all day!

Thanks for posting the pictures of Kellyn. I am friends of Jeannie and kids from Indianapolis. They sure do look like they are having fun!
